What is SCOP and what value should I use?
Seasonal coefficient of performance: how many kWh of heat the pump makes from 1 kWh of electricity over the heating season. Air-to-water: 3โ3.5, ground-source: 4 and more. Radiators and hard winters lower it.
Which electricity price should I enter?
The price on your heat-pump or off-peak tariff including network charges and taxes, from the tariff sheet or your bill.
Is a heat pump worth it instead of gas?
Most often yes for houses with higher heat demand and with a subsidy, especially if the boiler is due for replacement anyway. For well-insulated houses with low demand the payback is longer.
How much does a heat pump cost?
Roughly the price range of a small car including installation for air-to-water; more for ground-source. Subsidies vary by country and change, check the current conditions.
